WinRAR is a 32-bit Windows version of RAR Archiver, an archiver and archive manager. RAR files can usually compress content by 8 percent to 15 percent more than ZIP files can. WinRAR's main features include strong general and multimedia compression, the ability to process non-RAR archive formats, ZIP compression and decompression, support for long filenames, programmable self-extracting archives (SFX), repair of damaged archives, authenticity verification, embedded file comments, and encryption. Unicode is supported in archive filenames, allowing non-English filenames to be handled painlessly.

Its ok but...

you gotta pay 4 it.and why should we pay when we can have better and more efficiant compressing utility which uses all new LZMA alogrithm to ULTRA compress files more faster and is also better in extracting as well! yes! its non other then "7-ZIP" and its absolutley FREE!!!

I''m using winzip for last 5 years. but this software is far better than WINZIP.

Excellent and better than WINZIP

This Software is absolutely free. Best for reducing the file size. PERSONAL EXPERIRENCE:- This converts much better than WINZIP

good, nice, excellent, almost perfect

Winrar's flaw is that it can't compress files other than zip or rar. There is another software. It can compress 9 ways, and can read 9 different kinds of compressed files (zip, rar, alz, izh, cab, jar, tar, tgz, and bh). program name: Alzip. Get it at www.altools.net. It's closed down for repair, but you can download it anyway.
